SUMMARY:Architects in Action 2020: Coffee and Conversations
DESCRIPTION:Featuring Corey Clayborne\, FAIA\, NOMA\, MBA in Conversation with Whitney Johnson\, Assoc. AIA\, Assoc. NOMA \nWhitney Johnson is an emerging professional in Nashville\, TN with 5 years of experience working at EOA Architects. She is a graduate of Auburn University and is well on her way to licensure. Whitney currently serves on the Board of Directors for AIA Middle Tennessee as the liaison for its newly formed Government Advocacy Committee. She is also an active member of NOMAnash\, the local chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects. Whitney is interested in combatting the effects of gentrification in minority communities\, in addition to addressing and reducing the pipeline challenges as they relate to the profession of architecture. \nCorey Clayborne currently serves as the Executive Vice President of AIA Virginia and is responsible for ensuring the success of the Advocacy\, Education\, Outreach\, and Member Services portfolios. Corey has been recognized by the AIA at the local\, state and national levels. Most recently in 2020\, he was elevated by the Institute into its prestigious College of Fellows.  Corey is an architect licensed to practice in Virginia who worked in private practice for 13 years serving as a project manager for local\, state\, and federal clients before taking the chief executive position at AIA Virginia.
