Blacksburg Mayor’s Innovation Project Charrette

Participate in the first of two design charrettes to explore the opportunities to redevelop 414 N. Main Street. The property is the former Cook’s Cleaner property located on North Main Street at the intersection of the Alumni Mall on Virginia Tech’s campus.

The town was successful in being selected as one of three projects by the Mayor’s Innovation Project in partnership with AIA.

The charrette will include an orientation to the approximately 4,000 square foot vacant building, history of the property, and environmental remediation efforts. Most importantly we will discuss the opportunities of the building to include the concept of hosting a Small Business Retail Incubator, exhibit and conference space as well as possibilities to host office pace for nonprofits focused on supporting downtown and the cultural and arts efforts.
